July 09
It had been a long day after coming out from Japan Embassy. Lucky to get 2 free tickets for the International Film Screening which starting from 7-9 July 2006. I wish my movie lover fren able to join me despite the short notice. For the one who miss it, i will share the movie and the sensation of the movie. The movie entitled "Crying out love, in the center of the World". It is a Japanese romance novel by Katayama Kyoichi. A great movie to remember 7 July.
The story is between the present (2004) and 1986, when the love story unfold. A couple who going to get marry suddenly find that thing is on the rock, Sakutaro (Osawa), a businessman in his early 30s, suddenly find that his fiancee, Ritsuko ups and leaves him after she discover an old cassette tape that prompts disturbing memories. The tape dated on 28 Oct 1986. This old cassette bring back Saku's love memory during his youth -- and his love for a girl named Aki.
Flash back to the summer of 1986, when Saku and Aki are second-year high-school students. Tall, athletic beauty Aki take interest and fall for the all-too-average Saku after riding in his motor scooter. They begin hanging out together, sending article to radio show and listing their article get it on air. Then they start exchanging audio diaries on cassette tape and love blossom.. It is the kind of pure mutual attraction youth love They spend a night on an uninhabited island and discover a roll of film which taken from a place in Australia called the land in the center of the World -- and subsequently Saku find that that Aki is desperately ill from leukaemia.
Aki request to take wedding photo together so that Saku will always remember her. During the time when Aki is under treatment in hospital, they still exchange tapes, with the help of a little girl who visit the hospital. Saku realizes that Aki's life is fading away and he will be there for her, and try to fulfil her wish to visit the Center of the World..but he fails when the Taifun #29 hit the island and all flight cancelled -- and after 17 years later he realised that he had been running away and avoiding the reality all these while.
It is his destiny to revisit his hometown and listen to all the tape thats she had made for him and revisit all the place they had being before. In the healing process from the lost of Aki, Saku need to feel the lost and feel the grief before he able to recover. The last tape from Aki finally was delivered to him by the person who happen to be the little girl 17 years ago, and the person not other than his fiancee, Ritsuko. Suprise?? Yes.
With the last message from Aki, Saku and Ritsuko continue their journey to the Center of the World and giving Love a second chance and relief the pain and fulfil Aki wishes. With that ...THE END.
Very touching and sad movie. I enjoy very much but find that i am short of tissue at the end...haha .... Its a very nice show that movie lovers would appreciate. here the photo album to share with all of you. Enjoy!
